Hello! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I asked but was not answered, have you read "THE WAY OF THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR"?... so have you? I really want to share it with you. It's so beautiful.
I so appreciate your posts and emails about our nights together, but this here is what I hope will be a catalyst for bigger and better things for us all and I ask for your support and even just a molecule of shared possibility... however, even if you are not interested now... just being in the group is enough, it is a seed, and seeds become flowers and plants and trees and that is beautiful.
That said, the book I am recommending for January 2009 is a perfect way to begin a new year. It is "THE POWER OF KINDNESS" by Piero Ferrucci.

MISSION LOVE: POST 1
Dear Friends,
I have been told since I was 12, that I was meant to be a teacher, as I learned lessons myself. Man, (woman) what a tough journey at times,… but I see that I am blossoming into the good man I have always meant to be, in ways I have always been drawn to more directly – helping to do good for myself, each other and for the planet.
This next year it is apparent that I must take steps towards doing this - for it will make me happy - as we all must be - and that we must listen to our souls and intuitions more, for that will enable us to discover our truths which will also lead us individually and collectively towards happiness.
One of my missions has always been to awaken consciousness, from our personal creativity – (which I believe helps you discover your soul) – to undoing the fear and shame based issues we deal with because of the influence of the oppressive religions. I believe fully in being yourself – your best self – and I support and encourage being liberated from conformity, and into self-expression and self-love; and I believe that when we have found our souls, know ourselves and live from our truth and from our heart we will not only feel wonderful in our own lives, but that we will radiate love and kindness and joy to those around us – seeing things from a positive perspective and that in turn will enable the growth and joy in others, assisting in personal evolution and global betterment.
ANTHEM events were founded on these principals, as was my gallery The Farm and the exhibits there, and my restaurants, Rumi – named after the Sufi poet; and Studio – an eclectic gallery style restaurant I owned for a while where The Palace is now. For those of you who may not have noticed, I never used homogenized stereotypical men or imagery in my ads or even in my entertainment productions. Everything was designed to encourage freedom and for those of you who noticed and wrote to me, I thank you.
This year you will be receiving emails from me in regards to my ideas and philosophies - as always - and also about events possibly and whatever comes my way that I think is worth sharing with you, opportunities, classes, gatherings, web links to people I admire, literary recommendations… whatever… all with my desire to do good for all of us, and with my desire that we should all be our best selves, live truthfully in self-love and liberation and love each other, our community, our cities, the people we interact with in the stores we frequent, our friends, families and partners in life and in work and the planet we live on.
If there is one word that sums it up; I would say it is LOVE.
So for 2009, let us love.
That is what I intend to do, hope to share and hope to inspire in you.
